Complicated Times: Simple Reminder

All I need is a very simple reminder when it feels like my life is getting complicated. WAKE UP – yes, I did that.  I got out of the bed this morning.  Barely, but I did it. KICK ASS – I am not sure I did kick ass truly but at least I tried. REPEAT – OK, I will see tomorrow. Only three things.  I think I can handle that.  I would add one more here, “Stay Humble.”  I look forward to welcoming tomorrow.

A Well Read Woman: and Well Traveled Women

I love books so I read a lot.  I love traveling and I get out there a lot. When I was about half of my current age, I was traveling through Thailand.  I was dirty, filthy and broke.  I was hungry.  At one point, a  well-dressed Caucasian couple threw a can of cat food at me when I was sitting street side in Bangkok starving. Two not-well-dressed-at-all kids took me to their home to feed me what they already DON’T have.  This couple seems they had enough money versus these kids’ family who don’t have enough of anything.  These kind of experience opened up my eyes and my heart.  Wide open. Reading has the same effect on me.  I can be inside of a book and travel though the book.  I get to experience tons and my heart soars. A well-read and traveled woman is very emotional, opinionated, strong, stubborn, protective of her own space and wants to be alone many times. Luxury.  What does that mean to me, I wondered when I saw this quote Sunday morning. “Luxury to me is not about buying expensive things; It’s about living in a way where you appreciate things” We have been lucky to have a warm winter in Seattle this year.  It was sunny and spring like yesterday. When I took my slightly overweight Chihuahua, Ginger to do her business early in the morning, I noticed it was such a gratifying morning.  Air was clean and slightly wet from last night’s rain and ocean nearby.  I inhaled big this air as if I was filling my whole body with freshness of winter morning.  Then all of a sudden, I heard something humming.  I thought it was a bee at first but it sounded a little louder than a bee.
